Baloo is Available Do you have a place for me? "Baloo" -- Baloo is a sweet male Husky who is about 3 years old and 80 lbs. He came to the shelter without information about his background, but he has been neutered and is up to date on all his vaccinations and heart/flea medication. Although he has some issues and definitely would benefit from an experienced owner who can provide consistent positive training and guidance, he is a very sweet dog. He loves walks and hiking and is good with noises - cars backfiring, train going past, leafblowers etc. haven't bothered him. He walks well on the leash and does not pull unless he sees another dog. He also does not bark when people come to the door. We have been working on crate training and while he does not sleep in the crate yet, he will eat his meals in it and stay in for shorter periods of time. He loves being around people and getting belly rubs and cuddles! He likes playing with toys, especially puzzle toys where food can be hidden. He is pretty relaxed for a Husky - if he gets walks in the morning and evening he is happy to chill out for the rest of the day.

He can take a little bit to warm up to someone but he loves people and is very friendly - sometimes too friendly if he gets excited and wants to jump up! He is VERY food motivated, which is good for training but can be an issue if other dogs are around. If other dogs get food or treats he will snap and growl at them, so he should be separated from other dogs at meal/treat times. He sometimes jumps on the counter but has not been aggressive to humans with food. On walks he will sometimes growl/bark at other dogs and try to lunge at them, especially smaller dogs. We have been working on the heel command and he has been improving his walking manners. He is very smart and has responded well to training, but he is still working on listening to commands in more distracting environments. He got along well with our female dog after a few days, but when we introduced him to our male dog they would growl and bark at each other if they were in the same space. When they got too close he would lunge and growl/try to bite. Neither dog was injured but with our current family situation we unfortunately cannot keep him, so we are trying to find him a good home.

Male, 2 years 0 months old, Tan and White, Brown eyes

Scooby-doo is Available Do you have a place for me? "Scooby-doo" -- Scooby is a 2 year young German Shepherd and Husky mix who was pulled from a shelter in Stanislaus County. Scooby has had some unfortunate encounters with people. No one taught him manners. We sent him to board & train at Yes Dog for 8 weeks so he can learn better coping skills and manners.

Now Scooby has completed his 8 weeks board & train @ Yes Dog. He is available for adoption. This kid is always up for a party. He is super enthusiastic about play and food. He'll make a great hiking companion, and he loves toys, tug, and figuring out how to get people to shell out treats. He is a rockstar on leash walking! While Scooby wants to stay near you, he has a bit of an independent streak and prefers to have his own space, too. He shows his affection in his own ways and will warm up to you once he gets to know you. He's full of joie de vivre, and we are confident he'll do well in his very own home. He needs someone who is willing to learn about dog behavior and commit to continue training him. Ideally he is best suited in an only dog house or with another dog that has good social skills. No young children as Scooby is still learning.

This is from Scooby’s trainer: Scooby is a sweet, very personable, confident, and independent dog. He is playful. He loves tug with people and tugs like a working Malinois. He loves to be chased. He loves to run for the sheer joy of running. He loves playing with toys. He loves running in snow, digging in snow, eating snow, catching snowballs, and all things snow. Lol He's a super curious guy and loves to explore everything. He doesn't like to be hugged, restrained, or otherwise manhandled by people that he doesn’t know. He is not an extrovert, but he will be your loyal BFF!

Here is a video of Scooby who will do anything for a cookie or a game of fetch.

Here is a video of Scooby learning how to play the nose targeting game.

Chase is Available Do you have a place for me? "Chase" -- Chase is a great dog. He is a 3 year old German Shepherd / Husky mix. He's neutered, microchipped and current on vaccinations. He lives in a home with us and our 2 children and 2 cats. He's been a great and loyal dog. He plays well with other dogs.
We have done basic and advanced training with him and he's been doing very well and improved in many areas over the years. He has had some fearful tendencies towards certain people for some reason from early on, and can be protective. We are looking to find him a new home. He would be great with someone with some land, another dog and the ability to keep up with his training.

Tara is Available Do you have a place for me? "Tara" -- We have had Tara for ten years now. My wife and I have reached an age and sate of health where we can not take care of her. She is a sweet girl who goes for daily walks (about 1 mile) and sleeps in house. She will beg for food during our meals and steal food left unattended. In perfect health, sees vet once a year. Also, we are retired and likely moving closer to our children back east. Hoping to find her a new family.

Male, 2 years 0 months old, Red and White, Bi-Eyed eyes

Blaise is Available Do you have a place for me? "Blaise" -- Blaise is a beautiful and energetic 3 year old Siberian Husky. He loves walks and is still learning not to pull on the leash. He is very friendly once he warms up to you and would do well in an indoor/outdoor setting because he likes to stick close to his humans but also likes to chill on his own at times. He is very curious so he needs a yard with a secure fence. Blaise tended to be possessive over his food and toys around our other dogs, but with training he's made progress. He's also learning to enjoy sleeping in his crate.

Blaise was rescued from a shelter which had no previous information about him. He was neutered, microchipped, and given a clean bill of health prior to his adoption. He's adjusted to living with our other two family dogs, a golden retriever and a terrier mix, and seems to do better with our larger dog. He's very curious about other dogs so more training and socialization would help him learn to interact with dogs of all sizes.

Unfortunately, a member of our household is undergoing treatment for stage 4 cancer and has found it difficult to be around such an active dog. So we are hoping to find an experienced dog owner home for Blaise where he can live his best life.

Dash is Available Do you have a place for me? "Dash" -- He's a really good dog. He goes to doggie daycare at least once a week, and he gets along with any dogs thats fixed. He's great with small puppies and even big dogs. He knows tricks and he has such a good soul. He listens and loves to play with anyone. He has never bite anyone or growl at people. The most he does is bark if he doesn't know you, and you're not there with him. He is house trained but he does need a backyard. If he goes with another dog, the dog must be fixed. He's a little on the light end and he very picky when it comes down to eating. He likes it when you watch him eat sometimes it's the only way to get him to eat his food.

I'm only having to give him up since I can't find another home for us to move into and my parent's dog isn't fixed, so there's a lot of fights between the two.

Kahl is Available Do you have a place for me? "Kahl" -- Kahl is a high energy, but intelligent Siberian Husky between 1 and 2 years old. He has some obedience training and have a very high food drive. He loves to play with toys and plays with his older foster sister, a border collie. He loves attention from people but can be a bit needy as well. He wants ALL of the attention! Lol. Kahl needs a family that is active to keep him busy. He is potty trained and we are working on leash training, but he is doing really well with a gentle leader. Kahl is submissive but he definitely needs a family that can be a strong pack leader for him. Kahl will be a great dog with the right family.

Steve Mcqueen is Available Do you have a place for me? "Steve Mcqueen" -- Steve McQueen is a typical 2 year old husky... happy, goofy, and energetic. He's friendly with people, but doesn't like strangers getting too physical with him (head petting/butt scratching) until he gets to know them. Since he can be rambunctious he would do best in a home without children under 12. He loves going out on adventures like hikes and long walks, or just a scenic car ride. He has been around large and small dogs and does well with friendly / submissive dogs, he does not do well with dominant or bossy dogs. Steve is housetrained, leash trained, and knows a few commands. He loves outdoor time, and with the weather getting better enjoys having a yard to run around or relax in. Steve is a husky at heart and needs a husky experienced household. I adopted Steve from a shelter 9 months ago, we found him as a stray in my neighborhood and took him to the shelter but was not redeemed and put up for adoption. He was having a hard time being held in the kennel all the time and felt bad for him. Unfortunately, 2 months ago i had to close my business and needed to move in with my relatives. They have an older dog in the home that gets aggressive towards Steve and have to keep them separate. I'm hoping to find him a good home where he can get exercise he needs and enjoys his company
